ASTROLOGY: Tuesday Thoughts

Posted on Jun 20th, 2006 by Mira : Astrologer Mira

Our astrological chart represents a map of planetary positions at the moment we were born into this life. From the evolutionary point of view, we might look at this as a map of our soul path, describing situations we are going to face, places to visit, people we're about to meet in order for us to acquire necessary karmic lessons.

This astrological soul travel map stays the same throughout our whole life, but we do change. We can study our process of change through progressed and transit charts and other astrological tools like Solar and Lunar returns, but what we learn and what level of our soul evolutionary development we go to, it's solely up to us and it cannot be seen in the chart alone.

We do have our free will and yes, we sometimes use it, positively or negatively, to learn and expand our consciousness, to help other people or to make a damage, on purpose or just because of our own naiveté and lack of control.

With transiting Pluto, representin our soul path and pain we go through, currently squaring Nodes and Mars-Saturn contact in Leo, several questions popped up on my mind.

How much damage we are able to do with just few words, turned against other human being, fellow coworker, neighbor, our client, a child... When we are not cautious enough or when speaking or writing before we actually take charge of our thoughts translated into words and phrases, when we make wrong decisions and take actions too quickly?

Why is it so hard, as it seems to me now, to achieve harmonious relationships with every other Earthling but it's pretty easy to hurt, to get angry or upset over things or events that don't comply with our own views and standards?

Are there previous incarnations of the soul? Do we come into this life already charged with certain level of anger, ready to fight consensus ideas, mediocrity and primitive views, wanting speed and progress?

How do we cope with it without doing harm to others and how can we orient these energy streams in a more sophisticated way?

How much pain does it take to learn a lesson?

Depends….sometimes none….tis a choice, if we are stubborn and refuse to listen to the inner voice….sometimes a lot…

In regards to our astrological birth chart…..you've given me the opportunity to inquire about something I've been contemplating…what about rebirth, whether we are talking a moment of enlightenment, a paradigm shift  in our current reality, a new spiritual path, a new level of understanding, a marriage, whatever….does anyone do charts on those instances and see where the soul took a turn?

I mean yeah maybe popping out the birth canal is a big event in ones life…but as far as soul growth goes, is it the biggest?   Surely the actual point that that one sperm broke through the membrane of the egg was actually more of a watershed moment…  or the time when Christopher Reeve broke his neck and after he began recovery and realized and stated…” A human is, I am more than my body”  that was powerful birth moment….and his life started anew.

Great stuff Mira and Wil!

Yep, the more neutral and in tune with the Universe the less the suffering- not in some fluffy way but understanding the power, intensity, vastness of knowing that you are the world and the world is you (down to every sub atomic particle) in this way there are no victims, no accidents, because you are that. The natural of manifest existence is that every opposite must meet and cancel itself out- this natural law is reflected in astrology through the different signs and energies- ultimately we say enough and achieve a balance and equinimity with every force in the Universe. We can’t understand self as seperate force (Aries) without the context of being in relation to other (Libra) and so on and so forth- this is all necessary in the evolution of consciousness just as evil(!) is a natural part of the fabric
of reality- the painter needs to have a full spectrum to paint the masterpiece-

Great thoughts here.

Made me think of the moon as vehicle for the emotional developpment and the part that personalise experience..In esoteric astrology, they say that the moon veil uranus,in other words, progress is slowed down because of emotional baggage.

Healing the dualism inherent in all, there needs to be awareness and love..

Pain gives awareness and healing the pain, after walking 40 years in the desert, releases love..

Personally, I feel that my awareness to everything changes destructive behaviour by seeing the truth of my own issues.

Pluto certainly puts focus on the dualistic energy inherent in all of us..Churning away that which is not real and giving us true power.

We would stop abusing energy then.

Thank you for your responses!

WIL >> Depends….sometimes none….tis a choice, if we are stubborn and refuse to listen to the inner voice….sometimes a lot…

Wil, I completely agree.

WIL >> Does anyone do charts on those instances and see where the soul took a turn?

Brilliant ideas and good thinking! Of course those moments are important and it's possible to connect planetary positions at those times (transit charts) with soul's natal chart. Birthchart, however, expresses our major life lessons we need to learn when incarnating here.

BIJARTS >> We can't understand self as separate force (Aries) without the context of being in relation to other (Libra)

Thank you for pointing this out. We can't live in full capacity without understanding polarities!

SOL >> In esoteric astrology, they say that the moon veil uranus,in other words, progress is slowed down because of emotional baggage.

Exactly! Theoretically, we could have unlimited Uranian progress in any desired direction but the question is how much can we handle emotionally (Moon). It takes time for emotions to adjust to any new ideas.

Love helps, doesn't it ;)
