Cosmic Journal Astrology Internet Radio

Posted on Mar 1st, 2009 by Mira : Astrologer Mira

Dear Astrology Friends,

If you missed today's "Cosmic Journal", this is the link for download and subscription to your i-pod:

http://astrologija.podbean.com/

My experiment with the live Blog Talk Radio was great, however the sound is recorded via phone line and it's not high quality. You may find the link above much easier to connect to, and more pleasant for your ear. I will continue to improve the audio quality of the show and hopefully you will be a part of this and share it with me.

The BTR site reported there was quite a lot of "live" listeners today, nobody brave enough to call the show, though. That's OK and completely understandable. The important thing is, you like to hear about astrology and you were there. Our facebook "astrologija" group is growing too, in fact there are two - one in English and one in Bosnian-Serbian-Croatian language. In just few weeks, more than 120 people joined these groups.

I apologize for e-mailing again, if you would like to opt-out, please reply to me with "unsubscribe" in the subject line.

Thanks again for everyone's support.

Have a wonderful week.

What's in Your Chart

There is so many details in every chart, every personal journey is valuable, every individual is unique and every life path is full of interesting events and numerous amazing experiences, we could talk about it day and night.

You are here and now... You are not your life story even though your story, your achievements and your mistakes are saved somewhere in the memory of the Universe. Your astrological chart is like a book of your life, written by this amazing cosmic language.

Planets and the Zodiac are symbols that can say a lot about your karmic lessons, why you are here and why you are going through your current situation. How are you coping with it and what steps you're going to take, it's up to you, that is your dharma. Astrology chart however, can tell you about the right timing, when it's okay to take action, and when it's maybe better to wait. It can tell you if the person you love and you want to pursue a future relationship with can be a good match or you're going to have challenges - verbal misunderstandings, financial crisis, sexual issues or even power struggles. When is the good time to look for a new job, to buy a house or to move? You create your own destiny, but if you know yourself, and your inner nature, it is much easier to make correct decisions in life... right on time.

You can ask questions live during the show. We are going to take some participant telephone calls to answer personal questions that are meaningful for the entire audience. Call-in Number: (646) 915-8351

Asteroid comes as close as Moon

Earth avoids disaster as asteroid comes as close as Moon
03/07/2006 - 14:05:12

The Earth had a near miss early today when a giant asteroid hurtled past almost as close as the Moon.

The space rock, named 2004 XP14, was travelling at 11 miles per second as it made its nearest approach to the planet at about 5.30am Irish time.

At that moment it was about 268,000 miles away, or just 1.1 times the Moon's average distance from the Earth.

Scientists had already calculated it would not make impact but nonetheless classified it as a Potentially Hazardous Asteroid (PHA), along with 782 known others.

The object, discovered in December 2004, is one of a class of "Apollo" asteroids whose orbits cross that of the Earth.

Initially there were concerns that the asteroid might collide with the Earth later this century. Further analysis of its orbit has ruled this out - at least for the foreseeable future.

If XP14 did hit the Earth the effects would be devastating.

"It would probably be big enough to wipe out a small country," said Dr David Asher, from the Armagh Observatory in the North.

He added: "At least we knew about this asteroid. We should be more worried about the unknown ones. There are quite a lot of them flying around out there that are still to be discovered."

Scientists hope to gather valuable information about the asteroid by bouncing radar signals off it from the 230ft diameter Goldstone dish in California's Mojave desert.

Although the object's size is not precisely known, it is thought to range between 1,345ft and 3,018ft - between a quarter and just over a half mile wide.

"Pinging" it with radar will allow astronomers to plot future orbits much more accurately, and may help them determine the rock's shape.

"Usually an asteroid is just a dot seen through a telescope," said Dr Asher. "The real science here is using good radar observations to work out what shape the asteroid is. You might also be able to tell something about its surface."

The asteroid could not be seen with the naked eye, but was spotted by seasoned observers with moderate-sized telescopes.

Another asteroid due to make an even closer fly-by on April 13, 2029, will be easy to see with the naked eye.

Asteroid 99942 Apophis, which measures about 1,000ft across, will be visible from Asia and North Africa as it passes within 20,000 miles of the Earth.

On June 30, 1908, an asteroid under 100 metres (328ft) wide exploded over Tunguska in Siberia, flattening 60 million trees over an area measuring 2,150 square km (830 square miles).

Who is Amma ?

Her name is Mata Amritanandamayi, which translates into "Mother of Immortal Bliss", but to millions around the world She is known as "Amma" (mother) or "Ammachi" (beloved mother). So approachable is She that many have come to realize in Her a love that is archetypal of "everybody's Mother".

When invited to speak at the United Nations, She was recognized as a "preeminent religious leader". The news media have dubbed Her "the Mother of Compassion" because of the extensive humanitarian charities She has launched. The press have also nicknamed Her "the Hugging Saint", because of the loving embraces She has given tirelessly to thousands everyday for the last 30 years. It is estimated that Amma has already hugged over 20 million times!

Around the world She is identified as "a living Saint". Wherever She goes the crowds that flock to Her only seem to grow as people experience something unique in Her presence.
To observe what Amma does, it becomes obvious that She exhibits nothing of what we would call "a personal life". Sleeping less than two hours a day, She is the untiring servant of all people, dedicated to removing human suffering. Her outreach takes two principal forms: 1) Her darshan programs, where She reaches people individually, and 2) Her charities, designed to improve peoples' lives on a broader scale.

So, who is Ammachi? There are as many answers to that question as there are people asking. Indeed, She is almost impossible to describe-She needs to be experienced.

Moon is in Leo Today...

Posted on Jun 28th, 2006 by Mira : Astrologer Mira
Zoo_20animal_20599

... this applies to all of us...

MOON IS IN LEO TODAY

If you're not in the mood to go to Disneyland today, find something else to entertain yourself and be creative. Leo is the energy source in your chart. Like a free solar power generator.

Conjunction of Moon and Mars (this might be visible from some parts of the Earth) sends us a creative signal. Just do it!

If things are not going your way, don't waste your time on anger, rather do something productive. Moon and Mars can be irritating if you tend to be too sensitive. Oh well, cry if you have to... Then get up and take most beautiful photos of the night sky.

New Moon, Venus Craze and Other Good Stuff

Posted on Jun 25th, 2006 by Mira : Astrologer Mira
B8571cf7-tajland_jpg

Many things going on in the sky these days:

VENUS (Love and $$) IN GEMINI:    June 23 - July 19

MERCURY (Communication) IN LEO:    June 28 - July 10

MERCURY Retrograde IN LEO:    July 4, 19:29 GMT

NEW MOON at 3 deg CANCER:    June 25, 16:06 GMT

These events can go in so many directions; so it's hard to predict what they specifically bring to each individual. It depens where we are in our life right now, evolutionary speaking.

Venus entered Gemini and because She usually brings "Love" and "Money", we will probably experience both (giving and receiving). Did your neighbours have a huge party last night? NO, it was actually YOU? Oh... ;)

Shopping for new books, music, clothes and computer equipment totally recommended!  Meeting new extraordinary, smart people! Gemini sign rules our mind activity and cognitive ability.

New Moon in Cancer is good for new beginnings, so start something new in the area of home, homeland, mother, family, or ...in your own, personal emotional life. You just finished one cycle, it's time to start another one.

Moon traditionally rules our emotions and this is the great time to reflect on ourselves. Call your mom and tell her all about your new Venus gift!

Sending love to you all,

Mira

Ashes and Snow

Ashes1

"The title Ashes and Snow suggests beauty and renewal, while also referring to the literary component of the exhibition-a fictional account of a man who, over the course of a yearlong journey, composes 365 letters to his wife. The source of the title is revealed in the 365th letter. Colbert's photographs and one-hour film loosely reference the traveller's encounters and experiences described in the letters.

Colbert, who calls animals "nature's living masterpieces," chose to film animals in their native habitats in an effort to be true to each animal's voice. The film can be viewed as a work of art as well as a poetic field study."

Newest kids in the solar system

Posted on Jun 23rd, 2006 by Mira : Astrologer Mira
Pluto_charon

Meet the newest kids in the solar system: Nix and Hydra. The pair of moons orbiting Pluto were officially christened last week by the International Astronomical Union, which is in charge of approving celestial names.

Until last year, scientists thought Pluto was accompanied by only one moon, Charon. But the Hubble Space Telescope spotted the two satellites - more than twice as far away as Charon and many times fainter.

The duo had been known by the tongue-twisting names S/2005 P 2 and S/2005 P 1. Earlier this year, the moons' discoverers, led by Alan Stern of the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colo., submitted their choices to the IAU.

The names, with roots in Greek mythology, were selected in part because the first letter of each, "N" and "H," were a tribute to the New Horizons spacecraft, Stern said Wednesday.

New Horizons blasted off earlier this year on a nine-year mission to study Pluto, the last unexplored planet in the solar system. Stern is the mission's principal investigator.

Nix was originally spelled "Nyx" by Stern's group. Nyx is the Greek goddess of darkness and Hydra is the nine-headed serpent that guarded the underworld. Pluto is the Roman god of the underworld.

But since a near-Earth object was already called Nyx, the IAU decided to tweak the spelling to "Nix" to avoid confusion. The names passed by a majority vote, said Brian Marsden, a Harvard astronomer and IAU committee member.

Stern said he wasn't disappointed by the spelling change because the pronunciation and significance of the names were still intact.

"The joke was that they nixed Nyx," Stern said.

This summer, the IAU will debate whether Pluto should remain a planet. The discovery of an icy object slightly larger than Pluto in the Kuiper Belt last year reinvigorated the argument over whether to demote Pluto or add other planets.
